JIMMY THE GREEK’S TO HOST “FROZEN 4 MILER’ FOR BENEFIT OOB
SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The continued generosity of Old Orchard Beach Business Owner, James Albert, will benefit the Old Orchard Beach Summer Camp Scholarship Program – Send a Kid to Camp by sponsoring the
JIMMY THE GREEK’S FROZEN 4 MILER on Sunday, January 25, 2009 re-scheduled due to weather.
The race will begin with registration from 10:00 a.m. to noon followed by the race itself at 12:30 p.m. starting and finishing at Jimmy the Greek’s – Saco Avenue, Old Orchard Beach. Starting at Saco Avenue and MacArthur Avenue it will proceed on Saco Avenue to Old Orchard Street, taking a right on West Grand Avenue then a right up Temple Avenue and finishing at the parking lot at Jimmy the Greek’s. The first mile is uphill then downhill in Old Orchard Beach with the remaining course being flat.
The Award Ceremony will be at Jimmy the Greek’s at 2:00 p.m. with a pizza buffet and beverages being served. There are three overall awards for each age group: 1-10; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-99. In the event of a snow storm a decision will be made at 6:00 a.m. on the day of the race to postpone to Sunday, January 26, 2009. More information is available by calling 934-0850.
